Linda & Bill Kittmers in Burks Falls

Awoke at 9am, stayed in bed till 10am. Around 11, Lindas son and girlfriend arrived. We all had a nice breakfast and cuddled with the puppies for the better half of the morning.

Afternoon, Linda drove us to see the horses where we met Melissa. She had driven 200km round trip to pick up and drop off 2 bags of Purina feed for us!! Just another super hero saving the day for us 4. Not to mention she helped us 3 other times AND she had been up for 20 hours after working a night shift. If that's not being just the most helpful, kindness person ever than I don't know what is.
We chatted as we let the horses out of the standing stalls. They were both extremely stiff and had puffy legs. That always happens after go, go, go then stopping. But after we let them out and got their blood flowing, the swelling went down.

Since we had some stuff to do at the barn, Linda left to go pick up some groceries, and we said our good byes to the wonderful Melissa.
After we got back to the cottage, I spent some more time petting Leisel and Bessie. Leisel is almost 5 months old and Bessie is 13 months old. They are both training to be Dog Guides. Bessie reminds me of Kazi and Leisel like Dori - My two foster pups. Dogs always make me feel at home. Especially foster pups. It feels like all the dogs that are from LFC are one big family, and through Bessie and Leisel, it's as close as I will be to Kazi, whom I miss so much.

I got to feel like I was a foster parent again when we went to Danny's Justa Pasta restaurant. Linda took Leisel and I had Bessie. We all didn't eat much before going out for dinner because we heard how delicious it was and how big the servings were. So to say I was hungry was an understatement. But that changed quickly after finishing some amazing pesto!! And then the BIGGEST piece of carrot cake I have ever seen! All so good and a lovely time will the Kittmers who treated us to the dinner.
It was nice to eat so early in the evening so we had time to digest and to play cards before it got too late. They taught us this card game called Wizard. It is definitely a new favorite, even though I suck horribly. We then taught them "Asshole" or "President" if you prefer. Highly recommend both games.
Got in to bed just before midnight but that was fine because we decided to take a day off tomorrow. Happy to be spending another night at the Kittmers Cottage!!
