Lorries in Eagle Lake

So we woke up dark and early again. It was easier getting ready because all of our things were packed from the day before. I told Jewel to go check Ora. She thought she was better. Luckily Lorrie got up early and offered to go look. Still sore at a trot.
Kaleb showed us the clay so we did body masks and felt smooth and rejuvenated after

So here we are again. It's definitely not a bad thing to take another rest day. Yet even though I'm still tired, I am restless. Moving, walking for hours a day gives me a sense of purpose, and sometimes when that's not there, I think "what am I going to do with myself." Of course, there's always a million things to do. All those things you think of while walking and wish you can do.. Then you have the time to do them, and often forget or don't do them. But since I caught up on most blogs yesterday, I will do them. Since we were up so early, I was outside with the horses 3 hours. Lux is also a bit sore, and has a little cut I had to soak and treat. Mucked, gave Lux a full pedicure treatment. He's a bit sore from where the boots rubbed, and I used that all natural Frog Conditioner to keep his feet healthy, and some Vaseline to help the cracking. I cleaned my tack which was something I'd been meaning to do for a while, and then came inside to shower and finish up the last blogs.

I luxuriated and watch some more Orange is the New Black. We got the horses moving a bit in the arena, and then in the afternoon we went tubing down the river with Mathieus and Kaleb. I love tubing down the river, it's so peaceful yet exciting when there are little rapids and turns. I biked to the grocery store not far away just to get my legs moving. Then took a much needed nap in the afternoon.

I realized, once again, that it's easy to be positive when everything is going well. It's harder when it's not. Anytime something is up with the horses, I take it personally. I am responsible for them, and I want them to be as healthy and happy as possible. Of course there are many things out of my control, and, like us, they have good days and bad days. They feel more stiff on off days, like us, and need to catch up on rest. After watching a few more episodes and reading, Lorrie, her friend and the three of us took Lux and Ora bareback for a 1.5km ride to the beach. It was later so the sun was going down and it wasn't hot. Lux and Ora were surprisingly very upbeat and excited to get back out. We took them down to the water and Ora pretty much went right in. Lux, after some coaxing went it, but after he got out I couldn't get him back in.

We road back to the moon coming out and the sky turning bright pink. I went to bed thinking I'd watch one more episode but crashed (finally) into a deep deep sleep. Better luck tomorrow. I hope the horses are as rested as I am.
