The Borm's Cottage for the day.

Lorrie took me to get feed for the horses early in the morning, and we said goodbye to Drew who had just stayed the night for an awesomely huge bonfire.

By 10am, Erin and her Dad, Danny, were there to pick us up and take us to the beautiful cottage they were renting for the week. It worked out perfectly that they were in Haliburton the same time we were. We arrived to the smell of Belgian waffles being cooked, and smiling faces and welcoming wishes. We met the whole family and got settled in. The waffles were amazing, fresh fruits and juices and homemade bread.

Excitement & Fear

Clapping because I'm gonna push Erin off.

It was a cool day, but we all took blankets down to the lake and cuddled in Danny's new boat. It was nice to get to know everyone, and we did our first live stream at the doc on Drag Lake.

Despite the wind and clouds, we all put our swim suits on and headed out on the lake to do tubing. Erin and I went first. It was THE MOST FUN thing ever. I forgot how much fun it was, I felt like a little kid again. Hanging on for dear life as you fly and bump over the waves. I had the biggest smile the whole time, and my stomach cramped from laughing. It was almost as fun to watch everyone bump and fly around on the tubes too.

Their family is amazing, they always have a cocktail and snack of the day. Today it was margarita's, tacos, and Christine's famous guacamole. We all devoured the amazing snacks on the doc while the weather finally warmed and the wind let up. We played on the water trampoline. Though no one did much bouncing. The inflated log was the main attraction, everyone taking their turns to see if they could get across without falling off.

After we enjoyed the last bit of sun cuddled in the boat again. Kristen made amazing homemade pizzas. Dan and Erin took us grocery shopping before heading home, and was so kind as to even buy our groceries! I'm continuously so grateful for the generosity of the people we meet and share our time with. It seems to be never ending and I will be forever returning the generosity that's been extended to us three on this trip.

We're not always photogenic...

We got into bed at 10pm, exhausted but unable to sleep..feeling uneasy about tomorrow's daunting 54km to Dorset.

It was such an amazing, fun, relaxing, appetizing day off. There couldn't have been a better way to spend the day, with such kind, welcoming people.
