Jamie's Farm and Eddie and Jennies to Irvin Holding's in Essonville

We took our time and had a nice breakfast with Eddie, Jenny, Olivia, and Abbey. They came to help us tack up and drive our packs - always a huge help!

After getting on the road, the first few kilometers were great. We were in good spirits and riding along the lake. After that, we started hitting some hills, and the weather grew really gloomy. With it our moods.

The highlight was seeing Missy. A long time foster-pup mom. She is currently fostering her 35th an 36th dogs! A black lab named Remi and and yellow lab named Tonic. They were so fricken cute! It was nice to get some cuddles in, but unfortunately all the other locals wanted cuddles too. We had a nice visit with Missy over some Ice Cream. Ora got jealous Jewel was giving Tonic so much attention.

Back on the road, the last stretch was a big hill to Irvin's. I was so hungry and exhausted I just wanted to lay in the grass, but Jewel kept me on my feet and we made it.

We had a bit of a stressful time getting the horses to the barn. Irvin lead us into the paddock while his big draft horses were still loose in the paddock. He waved them away with a stick, but our two small guys felt vulnerable and so did Jewel and I. We finally got them safe in the barn, fed and taken care of. Irvin drove us to the cabin we would be staying in for the night. While him and Jewel went back to grab some things, I started a fire. The cabin definitely gave me an eerie feeling. It was near this pond, and I just got a bad feeling inside. It felt haunted or something. There was no electricity or running water... I was glad Jewel came back. But I still felt uneasy the whole night, so I didn't get much sleep. Though exhausted, I was happy when the sun rose.
