Sandra's home to Voyageur Provincal Park

At around 5am, the rain started. 30 minutes later it was a full out storm. Monika kept asking "should we leave?" "No, no its fine" I groggily said back to her. But then the thunder and lightening and wind blowing water into the tent started to get a lot worse. We decided to run for the barn and take shelter there for an hour. Although we were all exhausted and tired, none of us really sleeping well before the storm had started, we didn't care. The storm was exciting and we had a good day ahead of us. After we dried out our stuff and climbed back in for some more sleep.

Sandra made us all an amazing breakfast and lots of coffee. She was going to take care of the horses while we headed to the campsite I'd reserved the day before. All along Jewel and I wanted to go to a proper campsite, not an RV park. This was deep in the woods, near a lake. Perfection.

The most beautiful perfect day. If only it lasted a minute longer. Each moment was better than expected. Even the rain didn't ruin our vibe. How nice it was to be with friends, family our own age. Sharing history and generational similarities in the simplistic fact of coming from the same era, same town. Going to the same school. Friends and familiarity are gems and spirit revivers.
