Denise Dion’s in Saint Honore de Temiscouata to Campsite Mont Citadelle

Getting packed up in the morning can be tiring enough, but add bugs and 30 yapping dogs, it is not fun.

It was the first time in about 5 days (which is a lot for us) that we had to put all our packs back on the horses. We were so lucky to have it driven the past while and got sort of used to it. Half way through putting our packs on, it became final. We would only going 10km today to the next camp site, rather than 37km to a further campsite.

(Check out Joseph's farmers tan... unfortunately, all our tan lines are this bad)

Though it was a short distance, it felt long in the humid heat.

Half way through, a little black dog came over to us. We always have lots of dogs come up to us, so didn’t think much of it other than how cute he was and how much he reminded me of my dog back at home named Kira.

His name was Ti – Nour, (he had a name tag and collar) and he decided he wanted to come across Canada with us. He followed us all the way to the camp site, which was at least 5km away from where he started to follow us.

Even 1 hour after arriving and getting settled, he still layed under our picnic table in the shade. We were eventually going to call the SPCA, but it was really nice to have a dog around.

(Joseph and I actually working together!)

The mayor of Saint Honore de Temiscouata,

who we met on our way to the campsite, later showed up once we were there. We talked a bit and then asked if he knew this dog. He didn’t, but being someone who has rescued stray dogs, he took Ti-nour and went to find where he lived.

We are not sure what happened with him after that, but hope he either found his home or is safe and happy somewhere.

The rest of the day was extremely hot so we were happy to be relaxing and glad the horses had lots of time to eat.

It was also pleasant to have some more time alone. We love meeting people and chatting, but find we need a balance. Before this, I personally always liked being alone, or just with familiar people. Im a generally shy person so having to meet and interact with new people everyday, has been very challenging and quite exhausting. It has been getting easier but again, its really nice to have a break sometimes.

We all went to bed early so we could be ready for the next day!
