The Everett's in Island View to The Ingram's in Dumfries

It was hard to leave our cozy cabin and this beautiful view.

We had a stunning sunset the night before. Joseph and Jewel got some great shots.

We had a great sleep and woke up nice and early as always and Jewel and I made a nice big breakfast with all the fruit and groceries we had bought. Jewel and I are pretty sick of oatmeal so we were happy to have fresh fruit and yogurt, and of course, coffee.

This cabin reminded me a lot of our cousins cottage in Saint-Sauveur, Quebec.

We set off around 9:30. Long day, completely on the highways. A mood effects everything, starting off Jewel was frustrated because she was leading Ora without a saddle and trying to balance all her packs sans girth. She was getting upset and I tried to remain content, but It's hard to separate emotions and I found myself growing frustrated too. We kept taking turns rebalancing the packs, and then just kept walking down the busy highway. Transport trucks roaring by at 100mph. I had a good interview with The Standard, a newspaper from Saint Catherines Ontario. They were great questions, but then I felt crummy afterward. Why? Because I told too much, or because I'm putting my thoughts out there to all the readers to read. I find once I start talking and answering question it all just kind of flows out, so after I'm rethinking, "was what I said okay?"

It was hot and long and stressful ride because we have to be on and attentive while transport trucks and vehicles all wiz by. We crossed a beautiful suspension bridge. We stopped at a home off the highway and the kind lady gave the horses water and us ice cream. At one point I was riding Lux and adjusting his back bag when he tripped and fell to his knees! Yikes! I jumped off and he's scrapped a bit of fur off on both knees. I was scared because he never had done that before, Val came and picked up our stuff which is a huge relief to all of us!

We trotted and got to the Ingram's an hour before we expected! That was a

nice surprise. Judy made us pizza and took us to the bridge we'll be walking tomorrow, a narrow foot path suspension. We caught the bridge just before darkness fell. The bridge wobbled as we walked, so it was going to be an interesting day tomorrow.

We had two amazing woman come, both were horse osteos and one was a saddle fitter and she gave us some great advice and really helped us out. She said Lux's new gullet size fits well and keep the weight off the front. As for Ora it will be a while yet before she heals. She recommended a second skin ointment and a bareback pad. We went to bed later than we thought but slept really well in the tent as the night stayed warm till morning.

Thank you Judy & Fraser & Travis for your hospitality!
