Rest day due to minor hiccups, Ora’s saddle sore and Lux had some hoof wall separation so Joseph Upshaw (farrier) came an hour after I called him on his way to Woodstock which worked out perfectly. He donated his time and just did some minor touch ups to make sure the hoof stays strong and prevent anything further.

We met some long lost family, Deb and Larry Llyod, who are cousins to our grandmother! They are the ones who hooked us up with Doug, who got us in touch with Chuck Everet, the man whos farm we’re staying at. This morning Deb and Larry took us for breakfast at The Cabin and we had a wonderful meal and great conversations. They asked us if there was anything else we needed. Yes! We thought we were going to miss out on our two bags of Purina set up for us at G&M feed in Oromoncto, but Larry and Deb offered to drive us! We got our sponsored feed, (#PURINA) headed back to the barn so I could meet the farrier, then Jewel went back out with them to get groceries.

Amazingly enough, Deb planned to meet up with a cousin with all of Ora's tack! So we will continue walking without a saddle so Ora's sores can dry out, but we can keep moving. The plan is to meet up with our stuff in two days in Woodstock. Then we had a lovely interview with the reporter from The Daily Gleaner. She asked us some amazing questions that ended up lasting well over an hour. We really appreciated being asked more thought provoking questions, and not just the basic logistics of how the trip started. It was important for us too to reflect on the biggest lessons we had learned, and keep us open to learning more.

After we came down to the old farm house that is over 100 years old. Kit made us some salad, and then her and her husband Fred showed us around. An incredible huge farm house full of decades of history. The couple has been together for 69 years. I asked them what the secret was to such a long answer, Fred said "Putting up with each other". "Well our parents, and other people from that time, we just worked it out and stayed together". Said Kit.

Fred is an antique collector, so every item in the house has a history and detail that I haven't seen in my modern world.

Jewel and I always dreamed of a window seat like this one, but I never imagined a view like this.

The sunset tonight was breath taking. And as much as I wanted to capture it, and send a snapchat, it was a much more magical moment when i put my phone away and just took in the sun. Breathe in the smell of the damp grass and the cold coming over the hills from the stream. The clouds shining orange reflecting the sun, yet the dark clouds to the east are just as beautiful as the light clouds in the west. Light and dark, both with their beauty.
