We were so thrilled when Esther from Stable Hands Equine Bodywork said she would come out and give the horses a donated massage! Wow! It was funny because Katie and I were just talking about getting a chiropractor or equine massage out after 6 straight days of riding. Esther to the rescue!

We met her early Monday morning, and she got to work on Lux. It was amazing to watch how gentle her touch was, but how much of an impact it made on the horses.
Lux started out very pushy with his head and did not seem to care for it at all. But by the end, he was a different horse. Nose to the ground, eyes half shut and every muscle relaxed. As for Ora, she did end up relaxing, but not without a fight. I was quite embarrassed by her attitude, mainly because I am to blame. She has improved a lot but more often then not she thinks she is the boss which is dangerous for the both of us.

Esther was very good with her and I learned some massage techniques, as well as how to better handle a young, silly mare.
All in all, it was an incredible experience that I think gave the horses a fresh start with fresh muscles and lots of positive endorphins. It will keep them going strong for New Brunswick I'm sure!
Our day didn't end there. We met with Sarah, a reporter from Digby, NS. We did a quick interview and she took some pictures!

Here are a few of the awesome pictures with her. We enjoyed the interview as she was also a horse person growing up and very easy to talk to. Later in the day, Nancy and Brooklyn came to say hi and meet the horses. That night Angela made INCREDIBLE homemade pizza AND pasta. See what I mean about spoiled? We had a wonderful last night with the O'Neils, and were all packed and ready for our full day tomorrow!
