Day 5: Unplanned - 15km

Red Pine to Ninevah

We’re still really slow at leaving, 9am our ass. We ended up pulling out of Red Pine at noon on Monday. “On the road again, I can’t wait to get on the road again” we all sing each time we start our new day on the road. Another fun sunny day full of hopes and dreams turned sour when we couldn’t find a camp site. We ended up walking an extra 2-3km, Joseph an extra 7km, trying to find a camp. We were all separated and backtracking. Joseph was angry we didn’t have a set campsite, and Jewel was calling me on the phone in a panic because Ora was freaking out cause she was away from Lux. I dropped all Lux’s bags, and cantered back to Jewel and Ora who were in a state. I talked to some people and they pointed us up a road to a dead end field and house. We set up camp there, the abandonded house and field was a bit creepy, but the almost full moon kept us well lit, and we were joined by the owners and their cousin, Llyod at our campfire. Another sleepless night for me, heard the rain start and continue through the night.
